Story Hours

Elk Township Library has several Story Hours scheduled throughout the year.
A series of "Cabin Fever" story hours are held during the month of March.
Story Hours are also held for Halloween and Christmas.
All Story Hours are held on Thursday evenings at 6:00 p.m.  All ages are welcome to attend.

Summer Reading Program

The Summer Reading program is held during the month of July each year.
The activities held are: Reading contest, story hours, and guessing games.
New in 2004, adults were invited to join the kids in taking part in the guessing game.

In the reading contest kids compete with others of their own age.  The divisions are: Preschool and Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd Grade, 3rd and 4th Grade, and 6th Grade and up.  Each division is assigned a goal of a number of pages to read to qualify for completion.  The prizes are awarded for the most books read in each division.

Each year we have a guessing game.  Once a day, completed books may be returned and a guess made on how many items are in the container.

At the end of the Summer Reading Program we hold our "Infamous" JUNK FOOD PARTY.  The party features the four major food groups: Punch, Oreo Cookies, Potato Chips, and Pretzel Rods.  Prizes are awarded for each division and the guessing games.  All participants receive a small gift for taking part.

Summer Festival & Book Sale

The Village of Peck holds a Summer Festival each June.

Elk Township Library holds a used book sale once a year during the Peck Summer Festival.  Included in the Summer Festival are the Used Book Sale, Village Wide Garage Sales, and Fireworks along with various other activities that change from year to year.

New, used, and donated books are sold at very reasonable prices.

The Library organizes and furnishes a list of garage sales in the village.  Anyone having a sale may call the library and have their sale included on the list at no charge.
