Story Hours

Story Hours are held for Halloween and Christmas.  All story hours are held on Thursday evenings at 6:00 p.m.  All ages are welcome to attend.

Summer Reading Program

Our summer reading program runs for six weeks from the end of June thru early August.  Activities include: reading contest, guessing game and our “free throw” contest.  Adults are welcome to take part in the guessing game.

In the reading contest, kids compete with others of their own age.  The divisions are : Pre-School, Kindergarten and 1st grade, 2nd and 3rd grades, 4th and 5th grades, and 6th grade and up.

The prizes are awarded for the most pages red in each division.

Each year we have a guessing game.  Once a day, completed books may be returned and a guess made on how many items are in the container.

Return your book and try to make a “free throw” in our door mounted hoop.  Make one and you can take a prize from our Pirates Chest.

At the end of the Summer Reading Program we hold our "Infamous" JUNK FOOD PARTY.  The party features the four major food groups: Punch, Oreo Cookies, Potato Chips, and Pretzel Rods.  Prizes are awarded for each division and the guessing games.  All participants receive a small gift for taking part.

Summer Festival & Book Sale

The Village of Peck holds a Summer Festival each June.

Elk Township Library holds a used book sale once a year during the Peck Summer Festival.  Included in the Summer Festival are the Used Book Sale, Village Wide Garage Sales, and Fireworks along with various other activities that change from year to year.

New, used, and donated books are sold at very reasonable prices.

The Library organizes and furnishes a list of garage sales in the village.  Anyone having a sale may call the library and have their sale included on the list at no charge.
